Architecture

The current lighthouse is a prominent landmark and an important part of the island's maritime history. It stands at a height of 8 meters (26 feet) above sea level and features a distinctive white tower with a focal height of 22 meters (72 feet).

The light emits a powerful beam that can be seen from 12 nautical miles away.

Light Characteristics

The East End Light is an active aid to navigation, emitting a Fl (first order) light that is visible from a distance.

The light has a characteristic sequence of flashes and is powered by a modern automated system.

The lighthouse is currently managed by the National Trust for the Cayman Islands as part of East End Lighthouse Park.

While it remains an active aid to navigation, its primary function is now as a tourist attraction and educational center.
