The exact date of Farol de Galinhos's construction is unknown due to lack of detailed archival records. However, it appears on Brazilian nautical charts under reference G0158 and in the Brazilian "Lista de Faróis" managed by the Navy's Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation (DHN).

Architecture and Materials

The lighthouse has a round, tapering concrete tower with a height of approximately 14 meters. Its exterior is painted bright red with one or more horizontal white bands.

Farol de Galinhos emits a white flashing light visible up to 12 nautical miles, with a characteristic of one flash every 10 seconds (Fl W 10s).
