The Leuchtturm was built and commissioned on September 9, 2011. Its purpose is to mark the entrance to Marina Klitten and improve safety for small craft after modernization of the harbor basin. The lighthouse is regarded as modern maritime infrastructure but does not have formal heritage status.

The Leuchtturm is a free-standing tower likely made of steel with a small lantern room. It stands 7 meters tall, with a cylindrical shaft painted white and a top section distinguished by yellow lens glazing.

Light and Navigation

The lighthouse features an isophase yellow light (Iso Y) with a sequence of 2 seconds on, followed by 2 seconds off. The range is approximately 4 nautical miles, illuminating the river channel approach between 070° and 250°.

Accessibility and Visiting

Visitors can view the lighthouse from the adjacent footpaths and marina promenade but cannot access the tower itself. To reach Marina Klitten, take the B115 road from Weißwasser/Boxberg to Klitten or arrive by boat on the Lausitzer Neisse.
