The Tailōzaki Lighthouse was built in 1944 during World War II to support Japan's naval operations. Its unique design and location on the western coast of Honshu Island make it an important aid to navigation for ships sailing along the Pacific Ocean.

Tailōzaki Lighthouse is a white concrete tower standing approximately 23 meters (75 feet) tall, with a focal height of 15 meters (49 feet). Its striking design features a rounded upper section, tapering downward to form the foundation, which provides stability in the face of harsh weather conditions.

Light and Navigation

The lighthouse emits a Fl(3)W.15s light characteristic, meaning it displays three flashes every 15 seconds, with a range of approximately 13 nautical miles (24 kilometers).

Accessibility and Visiting

Tailōzaki Lighthouse is situated at the northern end of Himeji Bay, near the mouth of the Harima Sea, and can be accessed via National Route 2. Visitors can enjoy the scenic views from the lighthouse's observation deck on sunny days.
