Accessibility and Visiting

Visitors can view and photograph the lighthouse from the waterfront promenade and breakwater. The tower itself is not generally open for climbing. The nearby Maritime Lighthouse Museum (Latarnia Morska Gdańsk Nowy Port) offers guided exhibits on local lighthouse history.

Notable Views and Landscape

The lighthouse sits at the tip of the Nowy Port breakwater, overlooking the Vistula Bay and the mouth of the Dead Vistula River branch. From here, visitors can enjoy views of the Baltic Sea horizon to the north, Gdańsk shipping channel and harbour to the south.

Anecdotes and Folklore

Locals call it "Zielona Latarnia" (Green Lighthouse), a nickname that forms part of the lighthouse's colloquial charm. Throughout its history, the lighthouse has remained an important navigational aid, serving as a green gateway into Gdańsk Harbour.
