The Cape Ann Light (Twin Lights) was constructed in two phases: the North Tower was built in 1840, followed by the South Tower in 1895. The original first-order Fresnel lens from the North Tower was destroyed due to damage, leaving only pieces remaining at the Sandy Bay Historical Society and at the brick assistant keepers dwelling.
