The Plymouth Light was constructed in 1842, making it one of the oldest lighthouses in Massachusetts. It has been designated as a National Historic Landmark (NHL) since March 8, 1977.

The octagonal, pyramidal dwelling is built from white materials, standing at a height of 11.9 meters (39 feet).

The Plymouth Light exhibits three lights with distinct characteristics: Fl(3)W.15s, Fl(2)W.17s, and Fl(1)W.15s. Although the lighthouse is no longer an active aid to navigation, it played a crucial role in maritime navigation.
