The South Tower is a wooden lighthouse with a distinctive architectural style characterized by its compact size, narrow shape, and a pyramidal roof. Built using traditional construction materials of the time, including wood, the tower stands approximately 100 feet (30 meters) tall and has a focal height of 80 feet (24 meters) above sea level.

Light and Navigation

The lighthouse is equipped with a first-order Fresnel lens that produces a light characteristic of Fl(3)W.15s, which means it emits three flashes every 15 seconds, with each flash lasting 5 seconds.
