History

The tower is made of red brick with a distinctive square base and a cylindrical body rising to a height of 22 meters (72 feet). The lantern room, which houses the light source, is situated at an elevation of 25 meters (82 feet) above sea level. The lighthouse was designed by architect Carl Christian Andreas Olsen.

The Gasværk Fyr features a fixed red light with a range of approximately 10 nautical miles (18.5 km). The light pattern is a single flash every two minutes.

The Gasværk Fyr is currently an automated aid to navigation, no longer manned by a keeper.
