History

• The Φάρος Αγκálιστρος (Makronisos Lighthouse) is a historic lighthouse located on the island of Makronisos in the Aegean Sea. The lighthouse has been guiding mariners since its construction in 1891.

The Makronisos Lighthouse stands at a height of 32 meters (105 feet), with a focal height of approximately 40 meters (131 feet). The tower is constructed from limestone and features a distinctive octagonal shape. The lighthouse was designed by the Greek architect Ioannis Karamanlis.

The Makronisos Lighthouse emits a white light, visible to mariners in a range of 12 nautical miles. The light's pattern is characterized by a flashing sequence of Fl (first order) at intervals of 14 seconds, with a sector angle of 168° and a starting point of 207°.
