History

• The Aomori North Breakwater West Lighthouse was constructed in 1888. It played a crucial role in guiding mariners through the treacherous waters of Aomori Bay during the late 19th century.

The lighthouse stands at a height of approximately 30 meters (98 feet) above sea level, with a focal height of about 55 meters (180 feet). The tower is constructed from stone and features a distinctive octagonal shape. The light source is reportedly an oil-fired lamp.
