Omaezaki Lighthouse

The Omaezaki Lighthouse is located on Omaezaki Island in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Its construction began in 1887 and was completed in 1890.

Architecture

The tower height of the lighthouse stands at approximately 25 meters (82 feet), while its focal height reaches 35 meters (115 feet) above sea level.

The light source is a white rotating beam with a character of "Fl", indicating a fixed red light on the uppermost point and a flashing white light below.

The Omaezaki Lighthouse was designed by Japanese architect, and constructed using traditional materials such as wood and stone.

Location

The lighthouse is situated at the mouth of Omaezaki Port, which lies along the佐倉御前崎港線.

The location provides an ideal vantage point for maritime navigation in the surrounding waters.
