Löruddens Fyr

The Löruddens Fyr is situated on Kustvägen in Njurunda District, Sweden. The lighthouse is easily accessible by car or public transportation, making it a convenient destination for tourists and locals alike.

History

The construction of the Löruddens Fyr began in 1939 and was completed in 1941. It was built to serve as an aid to navigation for mariners in the Östersjön (Baltic Sea) region.

Architecture and Construction Materials

The tower height of the Löruddens Fyr is approximately 25 meters, while its focal height reaches 30 meters. The lighthouse features a distinctive green and white striped pattern, with each light emitting a different color to aid navigation. The structure is made from concrete and steel, providing durability and resistance to harsh marine environments.

• Light 1: Green, 5 meters high, 5 seconds long, emitting in a sector starting at 148 degrees
• Light 2: White, 5 meters high, 5 seconds long, emitting in a sector starting at 156 degrees
• Light 3: Red, 5 meters high, 5 seconds long, emitting in a sector starting at 263 degrees
• Light 4: Green, 5 meters high, 5 seconds long, emitting in a sector starting at 338 degrees
• Light 5: White, 5 meters high, 5 seconds long, emitting in a sector starting at 355 degrees
• Light 6: Red, 5 meters high, 5 seconds long, emitting in a sector starting at 4 degrees

Current Status

The Löruddens Fyr is currently an automated aid to navigation. The lighthouse no longer serves as a manned station.

The Löruddens Fyr has been recognized for its historical significance and is listed on the Swedish Heritage Register.
