The construction of the lighthouse began in 1910. It was built to serve as a navigational aid for mariners in the area.

The tower height of the lighthouse is approximately 25 meters. The focal height, which is the distance from the top of the lens to the sea level, is about 30 meters. The lighthouse features a characteristic design with six distinct lights, each with its own unique characteristics. The light pattern consists of Fl (first order) at ranges of 6, 10, and 7 nautical miles, as well as Fl at ranges of 6, 10, and 7 nautical miles for the other four lights.
