Windmill Point Light

The Windmill Point Light was constructed in 1830 and has been guiding mariners on Lake Champlain ever since.

History

• After seventy years of operation, the light was extinguished, but it was reactivated in 2002 to replace a skeleton tower erected next to it.

The lighthouse stands at a height of 12.8 meters (42 feet) above sea level and has a focal height of 24.4 meters (80 feet). The structure is made of metal and features an iconic shape that makes it easily recognizable on the lake's shoreline. The light itself emits a white beam with a range of 12.2 kilometers (7.5 miles).
