The Gros Cap Reefs Light is situated on the southwest edge of the Gros Cap Reef, located at the entrance to St. Mary's River from Whitefish Bay of Lake Superior, Canada. The light can be accessed via Second Line West.

History

The Gros Cap Reefs Light was completed in 1953 and replaced a lightship stationed there since 1923. This new aid to navigation marked the deactivation of the Point Iroquois Light in 1962.

Architecture

The lighthouse, owned by the Canadian Coast Guard, is a three-story base structure housing the keeper's quarters. The tower has been removed, and the light is mounted on a skeletal mast. The lighthouse also features a helipad.
