Keelung Lighthouse

The Keelung Lighthouse, also known as 基隆燈塔 (Kilong Lantata), is a historic lighthouse located on the coast of Taiwan.

History

• The construction of this tower began in 1908 and was completed in 1910. It has played a crucial role in guiding mariners through the treacherous waters of Keelung Harbor.

Architecture

The Keelung Lighthouse stands at a height of approximately 40 meters (131 feet) above sea level, with its focal height reaching up to 60 meters (197 feet).

The Keelung Lighthouse emits a white light that can be seen for approximately 15 nautical miles (28 kilometers) in all directions.

The Keelung Lighthouse is currently no longer in active use as a navigational aid.
