The North Manitou Shoal Light Station is a historic lighthouse located on the shores of Lake Michigan, southeast of North Manitou Island in Leland Township, Michigan.

History

  • Rising from the center of the station building is a square, three-story tower. The tower's first two stories are 13 feet square, while the third story is 12.5 feet square. Construction of the lighthouse began in 1934 and was completed by 1935. When it was automated in 1980, it was the last manned offshore light in the Great Lakes.
