Hải Đăng Hòn Dấu

The Hải Đăng Hòn Dấu, also known as Đèn biển Hòn Dấu, is a historic lighthouse located on Hòn Dấu Island off the coast of Đồ Sơn Ward in Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam. The lighthouse was constructed in 1899 during the French colonial period.

Architecture

The Hải Đăng Hòn Dấu features a traditional French-style lighthouse with a cylindrical tower made of stone and brick. The tower stands at a height of 22.7 meters above sea level, with a focal height of approximately 30 meters. The light source is reportedly an oil-fired lamp, although the current status of this feature is unclear.

Light Characteristics

The Hải Đăng Hòn Dấu emits a fixed red light, believed to be visible from a distance of several kilometers out to sea. However, the exact range and pattern of the light are not well-documented.
